GET IN NET training courses are aimed at enabling young people to develop and realise quality Networking projects under Action 3 of the YOUTH programme.
These are a unique opportunity to train young people to acquire the necessary competencies (project management, communication, etc) to set up Networking projects, as well as to provide them with the opportunity for finding partners involved in local projects related to the same topic such as media, art, health prevention, etc.
This year, 4 GET IN NET training courses are offered in cooperation with National Agencies from programme countries.
WHERE, WHEN, AND WHICH TOPIC?
- Denmark from the 29th of March to the 2nd of April 2006 focused on "Youth information, communication and new technologies" - (some free places available: if you're interested please contact your National Agency and apply by the 2nd of March latest !!!)
- Malta from the 24th to the 28th of May 2006 on "Health prevention"
- Turkey from the 12th to the 16th of June 2006 on "Art"
- United Kingdom from the 23rd to the 27th of August 2006 on "Active participation"
TARGET GROUP AND GENERAL SELECTION CRITERIA?
GET IN NET training courses are directly addressed to YOUNG PEOPLE (no need to be a youth worker, trainer or being professional in the youth field!)
Young people should be:
- from 18-25 years old
- resident in one of the programme countries (25 of EU + Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein)
- involved in a local project related to the topic raised by the course they are applying for
- a representative of an organisation or an informal group
- able to speak/work in English
- willing to set up a Networking project under the Action 3 of the YOUTH Programme

Candidates should always fill in the application form (available on www.salto-youth.net/GetinNet

when the call is released) and apply through their National Agency.

> Date: 2006-02-12 Methodology: We have accompanied the differents groups to the National Agency to submit their projects. We have had some meetings with the Youth Programme Responsible to introduce the projects and to talk about their possibilities to be approved.

> Date: 2006-02-10 Methodology: During the month of January we have been giving support to these organisations that have already applied the last First of February:
- Casal Juvenil la Mina and Ateneu Sant Roc: We have been meeting the youth responsibles and the youngsters involved in the projects in order to prepare the application. We have printed de Part V of the application (the longest one) in different sheets (each question in each sheet) and they all have written down all the ideas related to each point. We, as advisors, have helped them in the braimstorming, to understand the meaning of the questions as well as the way to answer the application form

> Date: 2005-12-30 Methodology: We have prepared a workshop about youth Initiatives for young people. We´d like to do this workshop next year with either youngsters from organisations or informal groups. The workshop is about: - ginving a brief information about the formal and quality criterias of Youth Initiatives through color papers - Divide people in groups, each group will have a different field related to Youth Initiatives: fighting against racism, environment, mass media, youth information... They will have to think a Youth Initiative which fits in the field and taking into account the formal and quality criterias. Also they will have to think about the need this idea wants to sort out, the actions in order to do it and the result. Finally, they will have to explain their project to everybody and together we will discuss if it´s a good project to be submit as an Action 3

1. ONE DAY TRAINING – 6/10/2005
The training had place in Gliwice in the organization “Gliwickie Centrum Organizacji Pozarządowych”.
Participants: 49 people (44 of youngsters, 5 teachers).

In two-days trainings participants always are writing their own projects, they are using their own new ideas. Also on this training youth had a lot of questions, and a lot of great ideas. Of course not all of them after the training are changing into real projects.
4. RADLIN DAYS – 26/11/2005
We made multimedia presentation about our organization, YP and A3 project which we had prepared (called “Kids”). Receivers (teachers, youth workers, representatives of other organizations, local government workers, journalists) were very surprised that we were so young organization and that YP could give such big opportunities!
5. EUROPEAN YOUTH WEEK – 5-8/12/2005
We had three planks: 1. Silesian Youth organizations exposition, 2. Science conference about Youth Initiatives – Why we should promote youth activity? 3. Rock concert.
During the conference (which were made for teachers and youth workers), we were talking about non-government organizations, about youths and promoting activities between them, and of course about Youth Programme and opportunities which it gives.
6. ONE DAY TRAINING – 20/12/2005
Place: Wodzisław Śląski
Participants: 46 (35 youth, 11 adults)

On this training we have also opportunity to show them short movie “The sky over the Europe”.
7. TWO DAYS TRAINING – 14-15/01/2006
Place: Cracow
Part.: 20 (18 youngsters, 2 youth workers)

Meetings in Cracow we are preparing with the Regional Centre of Youth Programme in Cracow.
Summary:
During four months we trained over one hundred and fifty people about Youth Programme, included youth, teachers, and youth workers. Each Monday we were helping youth groups with their applications. We were working with people from south Poland cities – Katowice, Chorzów, Bytom, Wodzisław Śląski, Kraków, Sosnowiec, Będzin. For last deadline (1st November 2005) one A3 project which we looked after (we are coordinating it and helping youngsters with it) has been approved, and it will last since the 18th of February till the end of August. On 1st February deadline two A3 projects were applicated. So already we have three Youth Initiatives projects, and one is already approved.
Because of very cold and snowy winter in Poland we have to postpone our idea with youth tram…, but we hoped to make it first time on May.

> Date: 2006-05-09 Methodology: There were 4 meetings organized to promote the project and trained young people with total number of participant’s 58 for period November – December and around 17 consultations given by YLC. There were different activities organized (info meetings, trainings) to promote Youth A3 with total number of participants 230 for the period January – February.
There were few publications on web pages (as part of newsletters of www.ljp.lv and www.imka.lv and www.studentnet.lv) published and e-newsletter prepared on YOUTH A3 and was send out to more than 225 recipients..
There were given more than 45 individual consultations for the period- January – February.

> Date: 2005-12-01 Methodology: this week we started with the 1st step of our activities and there were meeting in Talsi for youth - as planned there were more than 20 interests. Next seminar will be in Kandava tomorrow and already are starting with 3rd - in Tukums soon... next activities will be next year - january - at least 2 info meetings, and in the very begining of january there will be info for media and young people - before deadline of 1st feb we are thinking it will be great... > Date: 2006-02-16 Methodology: we had the second meeting the 12 og janaury with the teachers of many schools. THe project is going o be implemented in 3 secondary schools and with about 2000 young 15 - 19 years old people.
We have informed the national youth coordinator of the initiative and we probaly will have her presence. We have already distributed 1500 brochures and the national agency is sending us more material.
we are trying to wait that the inforla group will born and with them we will work on a possible or more projects.
The first steps for us was the information, the lack of information was really evident about action 3. Now we will proceed in supporting a project or more. Photos:
